Brief Description
This is a technical trek into a difficult area where you traverse the southern flanks of the Nanga Parbat massif to cross Mazeno La 5399m a technical glaciated pass of Nanga Parbat’s. The trek has views of Mazeno peak 7100m and four subsidiary 7000m peaks. The trek skirts the southern half of Nanga Parbat massif from the Rupal Gah to Diamir Gah and onto the KKH. This is a technical route where only fit and experienced trekkers with basic mountaineering skills should attempt. Traditionally porters are changed on both sides of the pass which along with the stages charged by porters make it expensive in comparison to other treks.
Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival Islamabad transfer to hotel. Free afternoon in the bazaars Hotel
Day 02: Drive on the Karakorum highway to Chilas . Hotel
Day 03: Continue along the Karakorum Highway to Karimabad Hunza. Hotel
Day 04: Explore Baltit village the traditional capital of Hunza. Hotel
Day 05: Acclimatizing walk in Hunza. Hotel
Day 06: Drive to Tarashing . 2911m Camp
Day 07: Trek to Herligkoffer base Camp Nanga Parbat 5 /6 hrs
Day 08: Trek to Shaigirl 6 hrs. Camp 3655m
Day 09: Rest and acclimatize at Shaigiri. Camp
Day 10: Trek to Mazeno Base Camp 4 / 5 hrs
Day 11: Trek to Mazeno High Camp 4700m 4 / 6 hrs
Day 12: Trek over Mazeno Pass 5399m to upper Loibah Meadows camp 6 /8 hrs.
Day 13: Trek to Zangot Camp 5 / 6 hrs
Day 14: Trek to Halaley Bridge Camp 3 / 4 hrs
Day 15: Trek to Bunar Camp 3 /4 hrs
Day 16: Drive on the Karakorum highway to Chilas. Hotel
Day 17: Drive to Rawalpindi. Hotel
Day 18: Transfer to airport for International flight
