Brief Description

Reminiscent to the Baltoro glacier trek, but much shorter, this trek delights fans of big mountains and mighty glaciers. It is a demanding trek where you are off and on the lower Tirich glacier trekking right into the very centre of the high Hindukush mountains to the base camp of Tirich Mir 7708m know as “Babu camp 4724m” named after our veteran guide Babu Mohammed. On route, there are impressive 7000m summits like Noshaq 7492m, Istor Nal 7403m besides others. Two excess routes are possible either through Torkhow valley or the Zani pass which is preferred for acclimatization before the high trek. The trip can be combined with other treks in the region.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival Islamabad. transfer to hotel. Trek briefing for permit. Hotel

Day 02: Drive over Lowari pass 3118m to our private family Fort at Ayun. Home stay

Day 03: Village walk at leisure to acclimatize in Ayun village. Ayun Fort home stay.

Day 04: Visit Alexander’s lost tribe the Kalash of the Hindukush . Ayun Fort home stay.

Day 05: A day in Chitral town exploring bazaars and Fort. Hotel

Day 06: Drive to the high Zani pass 3840m 6 hrs for great views. Camp on pass.

Day 07: Trek descend down to Shahgrom 2/3 hrs. Camp

Day 08: Trek through willow / scree and dry rocky terrain to Sheiniak 4/5 hrs. 3540m camp

Day 09: Trek besides the glacier then moraine to Shugurbaisum 5 to 6 hrs 4038m camp

Day 10: Trek continue along the glacier to Tirich Mir base camp 6/7 hrs, Babu camp 4724m

Day 11: Exploration around Babu camp 4724m

Day 12: Trek to Shugurbaisum 4038m camp

Day 13: Trek to Sheiniak 3540m camp

Day 14: Trek to Shahgrom drive to Ayun Fort home stay.

Day 15: Fly to Peshawar. Free day Peshawar bazaars. Hotel

Day 16: Drive to Islamabad. Hotel

Day 17: Transfer to airport for International fligh
